Kaun Banega Crorepati, the only hit and popular Indian reality show which has enabled the producers and directors to continue the show up to the season 6. So, isn’t it exciting for the common people for the continuous opportunities to become a crorepati ? The other reality shows based on the music, dance and other arts die out soon or are blamed to be scripted.
However, it seems the KBC is the most awaited reality show in India. As soon as the registrations of the show get opened, people crowd by SMSing and calling on the provided numbers. I appreciate such kind of shows which are changing the lives of the common people.
But I would like to ask very simple questions to the readers of this post, who participate in the KBC every time by registering. The questions are as follows:
- Where the money comes from, which is paid to that lucky winner in each episode?
- How much Mr. Amitabh Bachchan was being paid for shooting for a single episode?
- Where the money (1 Lakh or 2 Lakh) comes from, which is paid to the GBJJ winner?
If you have not even wondered about the above questions yet, start wondering them from now as this would help you create innovative ideas to create money using the business techniques.
I am answering the above questions for the convenience of my readers. The money which is won by the participants is all white and not black. It is his/her reward, which has been paid by his/her fate due to his/her patience and efforts.
So, let me start with and tell you that all the registration process of the KBC show is done with the help of the service providers like Airtel, Aircel, BSNL, Idea, Reliance, Tata Docomo, Tata Indicom, Uninor, Virgin Mobile & Vodafone. Have you ever noticed that each service provider charges Rs.4 or more on a single SMS? So, that is the income of the show’s producers and the host and the service providers out of which the lucky winners and the GBJJ (Ghar baithe Jeeto Jackpot) winners are paid.
Siddhartha Basu, the producer-director of the KBC show, used his business mind for making money so easily with the use of mind. And due to the money earned by Basu, he is always able to hire a host like Amitabh Bachchan. Amitabh Bachchan had charged Rs.1 crore per episode in the first 2 seasons of the show. The present data is not available.
So, it is our money which is taken in the form of huge amount and then given in a little amount to some lucky people. Isn’t it a great business mind?
Now let me tell you the practical figures of the money which is being made by the show’s crew per episode.
There are about 28 states in India which together constitute the world’s second largest population. And with the rapid growth of mobiles and service providers, the India has millions of millions of subscribers. So, if in each episode, suppose 100 of subscribers (AIRTEL) answers the GBJJ question from 20 districts from each state taking care of the Rs.6 charged per SMS.
Then the total amount raised will become Rs.6 X 100 X 20 X 28= Rs.336000. So, Rs.3.36 lakh is raised in just 15 minutes period. And due to popularity of the show, the huge amount of people responds to the GBJJ questions. Sometimes, a single user replies with more than 1 message.
So, the 3.36 lakh can be multiplied by 10, 100 or 1000 times till the 24 hours deadline till the next episode. And from that amount, after paying tax, after paying to the show winners and after paying to the GBJJ winner, a big amount is bagged by the show’s crew and cast.
On the other hand, the show’s crew also gets a huge amount from the sponsors like Idea, Axis Bank and more.
So, these were the scenes behind Ghar baithe Jeeto Jackpot to become a lakhpati.
